ABOUT MKN MENTORING
MKN Mentoring was founded in 2021 by Dr. Miranda K. Nortey to address the unique needs of first-generation, Black and underrepresented students pursuing careers as physicians, from the early stages of the premedical journey through matriculation into medical school.
We are dedicated to reducing the barriers that too often cause talented students to step away from their path to medicine while equipping them with the knowledge, support and tools needed to grow both academically and personally.
Through this work, we aim to strengthen the pathway to medicine and increase the representation of Black and underrepresented students within medical education and the physician workforce.
Our goal is to develop well-rounded, culturally competent future physicians who are prepared to navigate the academic rigor of both allopathic and osteopathic medical education, advocate for themselves and ultimately serve their communities with confidence, compassion and purpose.
